A few days ago a lady from France attended our call center. She was very nervous. She found on our website an apartment in Denia (Alicante), which she liked, and which was available and at a very good price, but she didn`t dare to book it ….
After a few minutes of conversation she confessed that she has been the victim of a scam. A week before she discovered that she paid almost € 1,000 for booking an apartment which doesn`t exist.
According to this client, the alleged deception was done through Abritel, one of the best known sites of holiday homes and apartments in France. Excepting this lady, they also had other 170 affected families, and the scam is over € 2 millions.

• The most secure means of payment are the bank transfer or the payment by credit card, since it identifies the seller.

• Very cheap rentals, without a security deposit, etc … are a potential trap.
• Make sure the company which is making you the reservation is registered in the Companies House.
Also ask who will attend you in the place of your holiday if there is any problem.
